Adcote School

Girls aged 7 to 18

Adcote is a prestigious girl boarding school located in Central England. Founded in 1907, it has a long and distinguished history as well as a reputation for providing excellence and fully rounded education for its students. The school is in an idyllic rural location, four miles from Shrewsbury and surrounded by thirty acres of glorious parkland. We nurture our students’ individual talents and pride ourselves that all girls have the opportunity to excel academically.

Boarding students are especially well looked after by our experienced and caring boarding team. Excellent meals, a high standard of accommodation and a wide range of activities both within and outside of school are provided. In addition, a Chinese guardian fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin is available.

Adcote girls are ready to face the challenges of life in the 21st century and go on to attend some of the best universities in the UK and USA, including Oxford, Cambridge, and Harvard. Small class sizes and passionate teachers enable a high performing and supportive culture encouraging girls to be the best they can be. Girls at Adcote have excelled in technical subjects such as science and further mathematics as they aim for careers in traditionally male dominated workplaces. Historically they have taken up places at elite universities such as Cambridge and Imperial College London to study sciences and mathematics, proving that girls only education creates a robust learning environment for ‘STEM’ subjects.
